County deputy injured in crash with Tyson's truck during emergency call
GRANDVIEW ---- Carroll County Deputy Greg Noftsger was injured in a traffic accident on Monday while responding to a domestic disturbance call.
The accident occurred at 5:51 p.m. on County Road 414. Sheriff Chuck Medford said the 1997 county-owned Jeep that Noftsger was driving was totalled when it collided with a Tyson Foods feed truck on a sharp curve on CR 414, a gravel road near Grandview.
Noftsger was airlifted to St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo. "We thought he had a broken leg," Medford said. "He didn't, but had a good concussion. He was treated and released Monday night."
The driver of the Tyson truck was not injured, Medford said, and the truck was driven from the scene.
Trooper John Overman, with Arkansas State Police, worked the accident scene, Medford said. Deputy Daniel Klatt was dispatched to the domestic disturbance that Noftsger was en route to when the accident occurred. The cause or fault of the accident is still under investigation.
