KATHRYN R. CENEK, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born Nov. 9, 1923, in Opava, Czechoslovakia, a daughter of Emil and Maria (Mendrok) Drabke. She died Monday, March 15, 2004, in her home at the age of 80.

Mrs. Cenek was a Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing at the Eureka Springs Hospital. She was a member of the Arkansas State Board of Nursing in 1982 for two years. She was of the Catholic faith. Kathryn touched many lives and hearts of several people in the community.

On July 13, 1978, she was united in marriage with Guenter Cenek, who survives her of the home. She is also survived by her daughter, Olga Jensen of Holiday Island; one grandson, Christopher and his wife, Jennifer Jensen of Virginia Beach, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and John; a niece, Babs, and her husband Vaughn Farmer of Berryville, and many other relatives and friends.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date with Rev. Eugene Rose officiating. Cremation arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Service.
