The Shiloh Christian Saints ran into two buzz saws Tuesday night when they took on the Berryville Bobcats and were outplayed in both games.

Coach Tracy Jones' senior boys earned a 55-35 victory, good for a 11-7 season mark, 5-2 in 1AAA play. Coach Matt Carter's senior girls also took a big win, 47-31, with Hailey Blanchard hitting 5 of 6 3-point attempts on the way to 17 points. The girls were 7-10, 3-4, after the victory.

Berryville vs. Shiloh Christian

18-8, 30-13, 39-26, 55-35

The Saints (4-11, 2-4) couldn't handle Berryville's 1-2 punch of Cory Smith and Heath Neal, who went inside-outside all night.

Smith racked up 18 points and 4 rebounds inside, with Neal netting 10 via three treys from long range. Team defense was stifling, as Shiloh's top two scorers were Godwin with 8, and Killham with 7.

Drew Ray used his quickness to harass Shiloh's point guard, and Andy Kriesel battled inside for rebounds, snagging 7 to go with 6 points. T.R. Jamar was busy perfecting his scoop-and-hoop moves early, but a sprained ankle sent him to the sidelines in the first half.

The team made just 8 of 15 free throws, but hit 5 of 7 in the fourth.

Scoring- BV- Smith- 18, 4R; Neal- 10, 3 3s; Ray- 8, 3A, 4R; A. Kriesel- 6, 7R; 5's- T.R. Jamar & Joey Curtis; Josh Kriesel- 3.

19-7, 28-15, 33-24, 47-31

With Berryville's Emily Bell and Mahalie Armstrong handling Shiloh's big girls, Kaitlyn Garrison and Jennifer Counce, inside, teammate Hailey Blanchard unleashed a 3-point barrage just when the team needed it.

Blanchard hit three treys the first half, then nailed her fourth with just 29 seconds gone in the second to put Berryville up 31-15. She hit her last three with 2:04 to go in the game to put Berryville up 42-29.

Garrison got her game going for Shiloh (6-9, 2-4) in the third quarter, but she fouled out with 2:49 left in the game with just 10 points.

"We played great defense and kept them from doing what they wanted to do," Coach Carter said, then talked about Blanchard's big night. "Hailey has been in double figures five of our last seven games. And Mahalie and Emily did a good job rebounding. Our bench did a good job. They play hard and know their roles."

Scoring- BV- Blanchard- 17, 5 3s; Bell- 12, 4/6 Fts; Chelsea Williams- 8, 1 3s, 5/6 Fts. 4th; Armstrong- 6; 2's- Emma Cantele, Leah Stidham. Team- 11/20 Fts. SC- Garrison- 10; 5's- Smith, Hudson, Counce. Team- 15/22 Fts., 10/12 1st half.
