RUBY B. ARNOLD, 100, died on Dec. 14, 2003, in McLean, Va., where she had resided for the past eight years.
She was born in Huntsville, the oldest child of Dr. John and Bertha Bohannan. She was the sister of the late Geraldine B. Erickson, Edwin Bohannan, and John Bohannan, Jr., and the wife of the late Paul F. Arnold.
In her teens, the Bohannan family moved to Berryville where Dr. Bohannan had his medical practice, and Ruby taught piano.
At the Ozark Theater on the town square, Ruby played the piano for the silent movies of her day. Later she married Paul Arnold, the manager of Arkansas Power and Light, where she also worked. In the early 1940s, the Arnold family moved to Texas, where she was employed by the Army base and continued working for the U.S. government at different locations until the Arnolds moved back to Berryville.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by her daughter of McLean, Va., Mary Frances Hurd; three grandchildren; six great-granchildren; Thelma Bohannan of Berryville; and several nieces and nephews. She is interred in the Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, Va.
