Norma F. O'Connor
NORMA F. O'CONNOR, 92, of Garfield, Ark., died life Jan. 1, 2004, in Eureka Springs. She was born Feb. 22, 1911, in Chico, Calif., the daughter of Dante and Reby (Nelson) Fiorvanti.
On June 19, 1927, she was united in marriage with George O'Connor, who preceded her in death in 1986. Norma was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Donna Patricia Williams; and four sisters, Elise Quigley, Virginia Davis, Catherine Rooney, and Rose Marie Brown.
She professed her faith in Christ and was a long-time member of Penn Memorial First Baptist Church in Eureka Springs. Norma was a homemaker as well as a clerk for Eureka Drug Company for 38 years. She was a member of Morris Chapter #49 Order of Eastern Star and served as worthy matron. She was also a member of the Eureka Springs Quilting and Garden Clubs.
She is survived by one son, Duane and his wife, Doris O'Connor of Garfield; her daughter, Dorothy and her husband, Sherman Bridgman of Conway; a son-in-law, John and his wife, Alberta Williams of Muskogee, Okla.; six grandchildren, Donna and her husband, Bob Musser of Fairview Heights, Ill., David Bridgman of Florissant, Mo.; Patricia and her husband, Earl Cobb of Muskogee, Douglas and his wife, Karen O'Connor of Rogers, Jennifer and her husband, Wesley Dunn of Muskogee, and Diane and her husband, Steven Weems of Eureka Springs; 14 great-grandchildren; and her half sister, Pearl Vroman of Independence, Mo.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at the Nelson Chapel of the Springs in Eureka Springs with Brother Mike Ricks officiating. Interment followed in the Eureka Springs Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
