Eugene Finis "Gene" McCall, 87, of Ozark, died in his home on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003. He was born Nov. 16, 1916, in Eureka Springs, the son of Finis Oakley and Harriett (McCormick) McCall.
He and Elise Wolter were united in marriage on June 1, 1938, in Chicago.
Before retirement at age 70, Mr. McCall served as general manager for Heritage Cafeterias in Springfield, Mo. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He had a passion for people and for the outdoors. He loved horses and was a member of Southwest Missouri Fox Trotters Association and the Rogersville Saddle Club.
Survivors include his wife; two children and their spouses, Faye Ellen and Tom Pyatt, of Bella Vista, Ark., and Dr. Gary Eugene and Tedra McCall of Tulsa; a brother, Wells McCall, of Berryville; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
His parents and a brother, Bruce "Bill" McCall, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Dan Friberg officiating. A graveside service was held Tuesday in Eureka Springs Cemetery, with Pastor Billy McCall officiating.
