MABEL ELNORA CAMP, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born Oct. 3, 1915, in Beaver, a daughter of Harvey and Myrtle (Beaver) Skelton. She died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, in Eureka Springs at the age of 88.

Mrs. Camp was a homemaker and of the Assembly of God faith. One of her pastimes was writing about the local history of the Beaver and Eureka Springs areas. She was the great-granddaughter of Wilson A. Beaver, who was the founder of the town of Beaver.

She is survived by her son, Norman B. Camp of Eureka Springs; two sisters, Pauline Cadwell of Hot Springs, and Christine Easley of Eagle Rock, Mo.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.

In January 1931, she was united in marriage with David M. Camp who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, David Leo Camp; her brother, Clifton Skelton; a sister, Louella Evans; and her parents, Harvey and Myrtle Skelton.

Graveside funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at the Beaver Cemetery with Bro. F.T. Hamblin. Interment will follow the service in the Beaver Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
