ANSEL W. HUTCHISON, a resident of Berryville, was born April 9, 1917, in Blue Eye, a son of Philemon Lee and Virgie Gertrude (McCullough) Hutchison. He died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in Berryville at the age of 86.
Mr. Hutchison was a rural mail carrier and a cattle farmer. He was a member of Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Berryville as well as a member of Carroll County Cattleman's Association, and the Rural Mail Carriers Association. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during World War II.
On Feb. 17, 1940, he was united in marriage with Mabel Elizabeth (Rice) Hutchison, who survives him. He is also survived by his son, Waymon Hutchison of Dallas, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Randy Bruton of Golden, Mo.; one granddaughter, Amy Harrington of Ann Arbor, Mich.; one grandson, Matthew Bruton and his wife, Sarah Lewis-Bruton of Fayetteville; one great grandson, Benjamin Harrington of Ann Arbor, Mich.; four sisters, Laverne Dodgen of Blue Eye, Nadine and her husband, Leon Frederick of Branson, Exilee Garrison of Lampe, Mo., and Billie Lou and her husband, Rex Dicus of Springfield, Mo.; his brother, Pat and his wife, Betty Hutchison of Reuter, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philemon and Virgie Hutchison.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dean Smith and Rev. Billy McCall officiating. Interment was in Viney Creek Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to Freeman Heights Baptist Church, 522 W.
