Jewel Sparks

JEWEL SPARKS, 98, a lifelong resident of Alpena, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Hilltop Nursing Center.

She was born at Osage on Feb. 4, 1905, a daughter of Port and Bird Sutton Fultz.

She was a member of Alpena Methodist Church and a retired seamstress from Levi Strauss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roscoe, a daughter, Joyce, five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her daughters Dorma and her husband, Bill Lowery and Pat and her husband Omel Fields; and a brother, Argie Fultz, all of Alpena, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-granchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 22, 2003 at Alpena Methodist Church with Rev. Les Bailey officating. Burial was in Alpena Cemetery with family members as pallbearers.
