Eleanor Cameron

ELEANOR ELIZABETH CAMERON, 93, of Seligman, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, in Red Rose Inn in Cassville, Mo.

She was born March 17, 1910, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Marie (Miller) Meyer. She was united in marriage to H.A. Cameron, who preceded in death.

She is survived by one son, Melville D. Cameron and his wife, Betty, of LaGrange, Tex.; one daughter, Eleanor Bishop and her husband, Russell, of Seligman; one sister, June Meyer of Hot Springs, Ark.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Eleanor grew up in Iowa, where she received her education. She moved to Arkansas in 1946, then to Cassville in 1954. She later moved to Washburn and Seligman. She opened Cameron Cafe in Seligman in the late '50s, which she operated until 1997. She was known for her cooking. People would drive for miles to get a piece of her homemade pies.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, in Williamson Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Bob Scott conducted services. Burial was in King Cemetery, Seligman.
