JOE ANN BREWER, 79, of Shell Knob, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, in Red Rose Inn, Cassville, Mo.

She was born March 1, 1924, in Fort Smith, Ark., the daughter of Clarence U. and Josephine W. (Leake) Brewer, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Brewer, Jr., and two sisters, Martha Brewer and Patsy May, both sisters formerly of Shell Knob.

Joe Ann graduated from Sarcoxie High School in Sarcoxie, Mo. She moved to Fort Smith, where she was employed by Southwestern Bell. She was transferred to Tulsa, Okla., and, after 20 years, retired. Joe Ann later went to work as a supervisor at Rockwell International, Tulsa Division, and retired from there in 1982. She moved to Shell Knob in June, 1990. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Shell Knob.

A memorial mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Oct. 18, 2003, at 6 p.m. Father David Miller will conduct the service. In accordance with Joe Ann's wishes, the body will be cremated, under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Burial will be at a later date in Rose Lawn Park Cemetery in Fort Smith.

Memorials in memory of Joe Ann may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home or church.
