Rev. 'Jerry' Sjoberg
REV. GERALD 'JERRY' SJOBERG, 75, of Eagle Rock, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, in his home.
He was born July 29, 1928, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Russell and Phoebe Waisanen Sjoberg. On Dec. 6, 1969, he was united in marriage to Donna Jean Davis, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel Parker, of Norwalk, Wisc., and Dennis Schoberg of West Allis, Wisc.; four daughters, Barbara Jacobson and her husband, Jerry of Norwalk, Wisc., Sally Storey and her husband, Tom of Hot Springs, Ark., Linda Butzlaff and her husband, Gary of West Allis, Wisc. and June Verley and her husband, Patrick of Johnson Creek, Wisc.; one brother, Don Schoberg of Johnson Creek, Wisc.; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Jerry grew up and received his education in Minneapolis, Minn. From Feb. 4, 1952, until Feb. 3, 1954, he served in the United States Army (Air Corps) in the Korean War. Thirty-five years of his life was dedicated to nursing home ministry called the Souls Haven Ministries.
He was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Eagle Rock, Mo., where memorial services were held Sept. 6, 2003. Rev. Jim Clay conducted the services. Burial was in Valley Center Cemetery, Bloomer, Ark. Cremation was under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Mo.
