Carlis Andy (Barley) Peden
CARLIS ANDY (BARLEY) PEDEN, a resident of Berryville, Ark. was born April 4, 1920, near Blue Eye in Stone County, Mo., a son of John Monore and Ova Deliah (Jones) Peden. He died Saturday, June 28, 2003, in Carroll Regional Medical Center at the age of 83.
Mr. Peden never married, he lived with his parents. He and his father were farmers. After the passing away of both parents, he moved to an apartment in Berryville. He later was moved into the nursing home which was his residence until he died. His younger brother Eulys and wife Iola was very faithful in caring for him in many many ways. He devoted his life to Jesus Christ many years ago and attended the United Pentecostal Church in Blue Eye until his health failed. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, playing games and music and eating good food.
He is survived by one brother, Eulys Peden and his wife Iola of Green Forest, Ark.; one sister, Betty Sooter and her husband, Norman of Berryville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ova Peden; two brothers, William (Bill) Peden and Arlis (Mizz) Peden; and one sister, Ethel Minick.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 30, 2003, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne McCollough and Rev. Bruce Robinson officiating. Interment followed in the Hale Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
