Clinton Garland Tharp
CLINTON GARLAND THARP, a resident of Green Forest, Arkansas was born August 7, 1913 in Green Forest a son of Harry Steven and Alva York (Pointer) Tharp. He died Sunday, June 1, 2003 in his home at the age of 89.
Clinton was a member of the First Baptist Church in Green Forest, the Blue Eye Anti-Theft Association, a former Head community school board member. He was cattle farmer.
He is survived by two sons, Don and his wife Louise Tharp of Berryville and Kenny and his wife Deena Tharp of Green Forest; two daughters, Donna and her husband, Dale Molder of Citrus Heights, California, Sharon and her husband, Jerry Lorentz of Berryville, and Judi and her husband Thomas Ball of Bolivar, Missouri; a brother, Clay and his wife Mildred Tharp of Green Forest; a sister, Elveta Robertson of Orange, California; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
On October 8, 1933 he was united in marriage with Mary Anna (Anderson) Tharp who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Claude Tharp and Clell Tharp and two sisters, Cliffie Satterfield and Dorothy Marriott.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Green Forest with Rev. Marvin Emmons, Rev. David Hanshaw and Rev. Tom Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the Farewell Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice or to the Charity of your choice.
