Robert 'Bob' Hooten
Robert J. "Bob" Hooten, a former longtime resident of Green Forest, was born Feb. 13, 1939 in Sanger, Texas, a son of Robert Lee and Mary Magdelene (Conley) Hooten. He died Sunday, May 4, 2003 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 64.
Mr. Hooten was a veteran, having served his country with the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a businessman and a cattle farmer.
He is survived by three sons, Kerry and his wife Debbie Hooten of Green Forest; Randy and his wife, Regina Hooten of Berryville; and Rusty and his wife, Tracy Hooten of Harrison; three grandchildren, Shane, Hali and Lorrin; two brothers, Jack and his wife Hettie Hooten of Aubrey, Texas and Bill and his wife Joan Hooten of Aubrey, Texas; a sister, Pat and her husband, R.L. Johnson of Denton, Texas; several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Dustin Hooten.
Funeral services were Thursday, May 8, at the Nelson Chapel in Green Forest with Rev. David Keith officiating. Interment followed in the Norris Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
