Senior John McCullough came through in the bottom of the seventh with the score tied and two outs when he connected on a short shot to center field to score the winning run.

"John's a senior who has hit well, he's just hit it right to someone," Coach Barry Hardin said. "Justin Pittman led off with a single, then Steven Trulove got a single, and we had no outs. Then we got two outs and John came up with the game on the line.

"The runners advanced on a passed ball, then John made contact and the ball dropped in, and it was the ball game.

"Our seniors came up big against West Fork, and against Gentry, too. At crunch time, they've come through. You've got to have that senior leadership."

Berryville got on the scoreboard first in the opening inning when Steven Trulove crushed a solo home run over right center.

The team added three more runs in the fourth after Ryan Rylee got on base on an error. He advanced on a base hit, then Dustin Richardson popped into left field to score Rylee.

Justin Pittman then took over, smacking a two-run double to the fence, putting Berryville up 4-2. Gentry got two runs late and tied the game in the sixth, setting up McCullough's big play.

Pitching- Heath Neal went four innings, faced 19 batters, gave up five hits and two runs. Henry Adams went the fifth inning, but struggled in the sixth, giving up three walks.

Trulove came in with the bases loaded and no outs, and got out of the jam while allowing just one run.

"Shiloh played well. We hit the ball well, just right at them."

Shiloh led 6-0 until Berryville got two runs in the bottom of the fourth on a Shiloh miscue and an RBI single by John McCullough. But the Saints' pitching held, limiting Berryville to just one more run, in the fifth, while they added two more runs in the sixth for the final 8-3.
