Arthur Floyd Carter
Arthur Floyd Carter, 87, of Berryville, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, in Berryville.
He was born March 7, 1916, in Oak Grove, son of Joseph and Corella May (Layman) Carter.
Mr. Carter was a politician and a farmer. He was a veteran, having served his country with the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and of the Rotary Club, both in Berryville.
In April 1946, he married Marie (Hale) Carter, who survives him, of the home. He is also survived by his daughter, Ann Carter of Berryville; his son, Abe Carter of Atlanta, Ga.; his brother, George Carter of Springfield, Mo.; numerous cousins; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Lenneville officiating. Interment will follow in the Hale Cemetery, under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
