The Berryville Bobcat baseball team came from behind on a throwing error with two out in the seventh inning to take a 9-5 victory over the Gentry Pioneers on the road Monday.

That put the Bobcats at the top of 1AAA play, assures them of a semifinal berth in the district tournament, and gives them a spot in the Class AAA Regional Tournament at Greenland the first weekend in May.

The Bobcats moved their record to 13-7 overall, and 8-1 in 1AAA East play.

"We were down 5-4 in the top of the seventh and hit two pop-ups, right to them," Coach Barry Hardin said. "Henry Adams singled, then Heath Neal hit a shot right to the shortstop. He fired it to first, and I started getting the bats rounded up, thinking it was over ---- and their first-baseman dropped it!

"That gave us two on board, then Joseph Boley walked to load it up. Steven Trulove was hit by a pitch, walking a run in, which tied the game at 5-all.

"Then Ryan Rylee got a two RBI base hit, and Dustin Richardson hit a two RBI triple, and that was the game," Hardin said, as the Bobcats held the Pioneers off in the bottom of the inning.

Adams, who is 6-0 this season, faced 21 batters, struck out five, and gave up three hits.

Hits- Justin Pittman- 1/3; Adams- 2/3; Neal- 1/3, triple; Boley- 1/2; Rylee- 2/4; Richardson- 1/3, triple.
