The Berryville Lady Bobcat softball team hosted the Eureka Springs Lady Highlanders on Thursday, April 3, and won the varsity game, 13-0.

Eureka came back in the JV game and got their first win of the season, 6-4.

Berryville was down to just 11 players as some were off running track, on a choir trip, or out due to injuries. Coach John Ed Goodman said the story of the game was senior hurler Megan Early.

"Megan had her best pitching performance of the year," Goodman said, then noted that another big part of the win was catcher Jerrica Allen, who caught both games.

"She didn't have any passed balls," Goodman said, which helped the defense. He also said the team hit the ball well off Eureka pitcher Mandy Moore.

Mahalie Armstrong had two triples and a home run, and Allison Carozza also had a home run.

In the JV game, Goodman said Santana Barr pitched one inning, and Sarah Bonner an inning, and that Krista Simpkins played well in both games.
