Drugs, cash seized in county raid
BERRYVILLE -- Two people were arrested Monday night after Carroll County Sheriff's investigators served a search warrant that allegedly turned up a substantial amount of drugs and cash.
The arrests bring the amount to at least a half-dozen successful drug operations by various law enforcement agencies in the past two weeks.
In Monday's incident, Carroll County Sheriff's investigator Larry Marr said he and deputies served a search warrant on County Road 5052, outside Berryville, where they allegedly found approximately two pounds of processed marijuana, and more than $4,000 in cash in a safe and another location.
Arrested were Steven Snow, 27, who was charged with alleged possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rebecca Lea Snow, 27, was charged with alleged possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
"This was the result of a two-month investigation," Marr said.
He surmised that the Snows' alleged operation may have amounted to marijuana sales of two to three pounds per week.
Because the cash was found in the safe along with some of the marijuana, the money and safe were confiscated by the sheriff's department.
Both suspects' bonds were set at $2,500 apiece. They were released Wednesday.
