Curtis deployed; mom seeks prayer
Staff Sgt. Art Curtis Jr, 26, a 1995 graduate of Berryville High School, has been deployed overseas with the 362nd Psychological Operations Company of the U.S. Army Reserves, headquartered in Ft. Bragg, N.C.
The interim administrator of 362nd operations in Fayetteville was not available for comment.
According to his mother, Mary Curtis, of Berryville, he and the family are asking the churches in Carroll County to pray for him and his unit.
Echoing exhortations that have floated through the Internet for months, she said, "Let us be sending in 'prayer missiles' and 'cruise and scud prayers' to target enemy plans, and 'patriot prayers' to shoot down incoming threats. The torch has been lit and is passed to the pastors and the community to hold up a hedge of protection around our men and women in uniform through their many prayers."
Staff Sgt. Curtis is the husband of Yelena Curtis and father to Arthur III, 7, and Dimitri, 5, all currently residing in Tulsa, Okla. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Curtis, and sister, Autumn Curtis, reside in Berryville.
Sgt. Curtis was also a cast member of The Great Passion Play for several years, and, according to his mother, is also asking to be in the prayers of past and present cast members.
Mrs. Curtis expressed thanks in advance to everyone for their "continual prayers during these uncertain times."
