Ruth Andrew Redmon
Ruth Andrew Redmon, 89, of Tacoma, Wash., died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, in Tacoma.
She was born Aug. 1, 1913, near Green Forest, daughter of Elmer and Lundy Andrew.
She was very young when she married Jack Hammett. They moved to Formosa, Ark., where their five children were born.
Being a strong pioneer woman, she eventually took her children and moved to Wyoming and lived for several years. Later she moved to Tacoma and married Cletus Jones. After his death, she later married Ray Redmon.
Mrs. Redmon is survived by her children, Charlene Overfelt and husband Marvin of Colorado Springs, Colo., Farrell Hammett and wife Virginia of Yuma, Ariz., Georgia Murphy of Tacoma, Sondra Lorenz and husband Fred of Springfield, Mo., and Sue Lann and husband Dewayne of Wenatchee, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Bolinger and husband Dwight of Salinas, Calif., and Donna Sarabian and husband Chuck of Modesto, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Hammett; her second husband, Cletus Jones; her third husband, Ray Redmon; her parents, Elmer and Lundy Andrew; four brothers, Frank Andrew, Glen Andrew, Bob Andrew, and Bernie Andrew; and four sisters, Hattie Hobbs, Timmie Wynn, Hazel Wisterman, and Ann Houser.
Interment was in Mountain View Memorial Park, Tacoma.
