Hugh E. Black
Hugh E. Black, 71, of Holiday Island, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, in Eureka Springs.
He was born April 17, 1931, in Rapid City, S.D., son of Elmer and Helen (Miller) black.
Mr. Black was a member of the Holiday Island Community Church. He was also a member of the Elks Club in Rapid City and Holiday Island. He worked as a substance abuse counselor for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie M. (Larson) Black, of the home; a son, Kevin Black of North Little Rock; two daughters, Kathy Black of Eureka Springs, and Kelli Holloman of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Ray Black of Pierre, S.D., and Charles Black of Black Hawk, S.D.; two sisters, Arletta Orelup of Arizona, and Grace of Florida; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Monday, June 3, at the Holiday Island Community Church. Arrangements were under the care of Nelson Funeral Service.
