Dorothy Fuller Mathews, 91, of Rockville, Md., died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, in Charles Town, W.V.

She was born Oct. 17, 1910, in the Historic Fuller Home on Spring Street in Eureka Springs.

Mrs. Mathews was a director of the Bank of Eureka Springs and a former owner of the Basin Park Hotel. In the past she had other commercial interests in Eureka Springs, as well. She was a charter member of the Abendschone Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Eureka Springs, and a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick H. Mathews; and her parents, Claude Albert Fuller, former 3rd District Congressman of Arkansas, and May Obenshain Fuller.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Koch and her husband Bradley, and Susan Tronzano and her husband Matthew; a son, Michael F. Mathews and his wife Myrna; and a sister, Ruth Fuller Cross.

A memorial service was held at the residence of Mrs. Mathews on Saturday, Dec. 15, with burial to be in the Obenshain plot in Eureka Springs City Cemetery.
