Delbert Charles O'Dell

Delbert Charles O'Dell, 87, of Neosho, Mo., formerly of Green Forest, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, in Dardanelle.

He was born Feb. 6, 1914, in LeRoy, Kan., a son of William Edward and Lottie Jane (Lamons) O'Dell.

Mr. O'Dell moved to Green Forest in 1936, and he was a farmer in the Douglas community. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Green Forest.

On March 22, 1942, he married Jeorgia Ann (Norris) O'Dell. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and sisters, Thelma Carter, Steve O'Dell, Adelpha O'Dell, W.R. "Bim" O'Dell, Willis O'Dell, and Ruthie O'Dell; and a son-in-law, Paul Bacon.

Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Jane Bacon of Dardanelle, and Mary Kathryn Jenkins and her husband Dwane of Neosho; a sister, Mary Jane McGhee of Colony, Kan.; five grandchildren, Jeff Bacon and his wife Sharon of Russellville, Greg Bacon and his wife Stacey of Fort Smith, Scott Jenkins of Springfield, Mo., Brett Jenkins of Neosho, and Melissa Bacon of Dardanelle; a step-granddaughter, Ginger Colburn; six great-grandchildren, Jessica, Aaron, Tyler, Taylor, Nathaniel and Brooklyn Bacon; "borrowed" children, Claude and Alfreda Whited of Green Forest; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at the First Baptist Church in Green Forest. Interment will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery, under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
