SORT Training (Local News ~ 11/15/19)
The Carroll County Special Operations and Rescue Team held training Saturday for handling aircraft crash sites and how to work with air ambulance services. An Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter crew flew from Harrison to participate. The traning session was held at the SORT hangar at the Carroll County airport. Also attending was a representative from the Federal Aviation Administration. -
Pet of the week: Curry (Local News ~ 11/15/19)
Curry is a female, approximately 1.5 years old. She is very friendly and gets along well with other dogs. Curry is very playful and loves playing with her roommate Major. She is spayed and has her shots. She’s available for adoption at the Good Shepherd Animal Shelter on Highway 62 east of Eureka Springs. The shelter is open from noon to 5 p.m. every day but Tuesday and Wednesday. For more information, call 479-253-9188. -
Auxiliary members attend district meeting (Local News ~ 11/15/19)
Eight members of Mercy Hospital Berryville Auxiliary attended the Northwest District Fall meeting held Oct. 25 in Simmons Hall at John Brown University in Siloam Springs. AHAA President Jan Gardner and President-Elect Kathy Gammill were guests at the meeting. Gardner spoke on how volunteers plant seeds of kindness, which is her theme for the year... -

The Berryville Bobcats won Carroll County bragging rights with a 42-14 victory over Green Forest on Friday in the annual Carroll County Super Bowl. -
Swofford seeks re-election as JP

Carroll County District 10 Justice of the Peace Larry Swofford filed as a candidate for re-election late last week, becoming the ninth incumbent member of the county’s quorum court to do so. Swofford filed as an Independent candidate. Also filing late last week were two incumbent constables Russell Colbert Sr. in the Carroltton township and Rocky Whiteley in Winona township. They both filed as Independents, as did Trace Glisson, who is running for constable of the Prairie township...
