Quilt of Honor (Local News ~ 09/03/19)
U.S. Marine Corps veteran Ray Pruitt recently received a special ‘Quilt of Honor’ from Janice King during a presentation at the Berryville Community Center. Pruitt served in the Marine Corps from 1958 to 1968 and from 1972 through 1973. The ‘Quilts of Honor’ are handmade by the Table Rock Quilt Guild. Berryville School Board agrees to refinance bonds

The Berryville School District voted Monday, Aug. 26, to refinance its bonds. Superintendent Owen Powell said the district has $27 million spread across four different bonds. The bonds have separate interest rates, Powell said, but they will be refinanced together for a much lower rate. Powell said the move should save the district up to $1.5 million over the life of the bond.

ES council defers vote on standards for entertainment district

Last Ride (Local News ~ 09/03/19)
Members of the Berryville Fire Department accompany the casket of assistant chief Danny High for his last ride on Berryville Unit No. 3 to the Oak Grove cemetery on Wednesday. High, who served the department for more than 46 years, died Friday, Aug. 23, at the age of 65. Firefighters from other cities lined the way to Oak Grove in final tribute and units from other Carroll County cities helped cover Berryville so members of the Berryville department could attend High’s visitation and funeral service. -
