HI fire auxiliary approves new equipment (Holiday Island ~ 10/07/14)
HOLIDAY ISLAND -- The Holiday Island rural and district fire departments will soon be the beneficiaries of new equipment, helipad repair and a new fire station, thanks to funding from the fire department auxiliary. At the auxiliary meeting Sept. 23, Fire Chief Jack Deaton asked for funds to purchase a Kawasaki Mule, a small four-stroke-engine, four-wheel drive vehicle, which costs in the neighborhood of $15,000, although he said later he expects to get that price down through discounts and negotiation.. ... -
