A great start to the year of celebration (Holiday Island ~ 04/11/13)
The Friends of the Barn held its kickoff potluck on March 24 at the Barn. The event was to help raise funds for maintenance and upkeep of the Barn, which was built in 1938. This year FOB will celebrate the structure's 75th anniversary and have a number of activities planned for later in the year... -

The Holiday Island Chamber of Commerce held its annual award ceremony April 5 at Cornerstone Bank in Holiday Island to a standing-room-only crowd. Chamber President Pamela Hinson presented four awards for 2012. -
HISID to hold regular meeting Monday

The Holiday Island Board of Commissioners will hold a regular meeting Monday, April 15, at 9 a.m. The only agenda item announced as of press time is an executive session. The meeting will take place at 110 Woodsdale Drive.

Letter to the Editor: We do not agree with the petition

We are Holiday Island residents and we do not agree with the anonymous petition drive to oust four Commissioners. We disagree with the published reason for the recall. We support the four commissioners that these anonymous people desire to recall. Although a rapid settlement of the two law suits is desirable, it should not involve giving away the store. However impassioned the oral presentation of a agreement, a written proposal is mandatory...
