Green Forest man dies following canoe mishap

BERRYVILLE -- A 68-year-old Berryville man, L.J. Farmer, died of an apparent heart attack on the Kings River north of Berryville Monday after retrieving items lost from his canoe when a storm blew in. BERRYVILLE -- The Berryville Bobcat baseball team is sitting at 3 -- 6 at this point in the season. The past three games -- two home and one away -- has been akin to slamming into a brick wall... or three as in this case. GREEN FOREST -- Cross-county rivalry played out last Thursday as Green Forest's Lady Tigers hosted the Lady Bobcats in varsity and junior varsity softball action. The varsity game was won decisively by Berryville 14 - 3. But most of the scoring came in the first inning for the Lady 'Cats, who crossed home plate 10 times.
