MoviePass insolvent, sabotage 'Mission Impossible: Fallout'
Posted Friday, July 27, 2018, at 4:22 PM

Your mission, should you choose to accept it...
Is this the end of #MoviePass? Apparently, movie fans couldn't use their MoviePass last night or this morning because the company is running low on cash. At 3 p.m. Central Standard Time, MoviePass made the following service update:
"We've resolved the issue with card check ins and our service has been restored. Please note some showtimes will not be available for check in."
According to several trade publications, MoviePass crashed because the service ran out of money: http://www.latimes.com/…/la-fi-moviepass-stops-working-2018… Mission: Impossible: Fallout showtimes remain blacked out for all Central Arkansas movie theaters at this time. This issue coincidentally coincides with the day of the 7 p.m. advance screening of The Spy Who Dumped Me which is being heavily promoted by MoviePass. Funny how this happened today. Hmm? 🤣
MoviePass is usually awesome, but this turn of events is truly shady. A lot of moviegoers are not going to take this so kindly because they may not have the alternate movie subscription services like AMC Theatres Stubs A-List, Cinemark's Movie Club or Sinemia.
Don't let this issue dissuade you from seeing Mission: Impossible on opening night. It's an excellent film and a #MustSee.
