Cinema Crux: 'Winchester'
Posted Friday, February 2, 2018, at 1:29 AM

Cinema Crux is your rapid review of today's hottest films. It quickly allows you to decide where to spend your hard-earned dollars at the box office without having to listen to some pseudo movie critic spew out their own drawn out agendas.
Based on the true-life events surrounding arguably the most haunted house in America, Winchester - Movie sadly succumbs to a sub-par script devoid of significant scares. "Winchester" isn't revolting, as it balances precariously on the proverbial fence, but the film is not worth wasting money on at the end of the day. The movie is essentially a stale bagel. It is ostensibly delicious-looking, but in actuality it is far too tough to consume. Unfortunately, Academy Award winner Helen Mirren can't save "Winchester." Verdict: beautiful to behold (cinematography and art direction), but laden with cringe-worthy storytelling. If you have a MoviePass go for it, but don't waste cash or Sinemia tickets on this one.
