LOS ANGELES — "And then there were fewer." Tragedy looms for many in tonight's mid-season finale of "The Walking Dead," as the massive herd of walkers finally rips through Alexandria. If the show follows the comic books, expect an "eye-popping" fate for one of the original cast members from season one.
Many will fall tonight, amassing a huge death count, so if you don't want to know their fates stop reading now! Spoilers follow below.
In the comic books, the invasion of the herd comes at a heavy cost. Many of the Alexandria citizens succumb to the attack, but two of Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group also suffer ghastly fates.
Here's a look at who is in danger on tonight's finale, if they producers have followed the comic books storyline "No Way Out."
CITIZENS OF ALEXANDRIA:
Bruce (Ted Huckabee) - .A mainstay on the Alexandria construction crews, Bruce is bitten by a zombie and then put down by Abraham (Michael Cudlitz).
Tobin (Jason Douglas) - Tobin is torn to pieces and disemboweled by the herd.
Ron (Austin Abrams) - As the herd overtakes the community, Rick devises a plan to hide under zombies to conceal the survivors scent from the walkers. Unfortunately, the plan does not work and Ron is eventually devoured by the herd.
Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge) - Well, at least, Jessie and Rick finally have sex. Later, during the invasion of the herd, Jessie watches helplessly, as her son Ron is bitten during the attack. Rick begs Jessie to leave her dying boy behind, so they can escape, but she refuses. In her shock, Jessie won't let go of Carl's arm. Rick chops off Jessie's hand with an axe to free Carl. Mother and son are left behind and devoured by the herd.
Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) - After Jessie and Ron die, Deanna (Douglas in the comic books) is bitten by a walker and soon devoured. During the attack, Douglas begins shooting his gun to fend off the onslaught, but is unsuccessful. Douglas dies and accidentally shoots one of the original "Walking Dead" cast members.
Morgan (Lennie James) - After the invasion begins, Morgan fights alongside his friend Rick against overwhelming odds. During the incursion, Morgan is bitten by a walker. With his fate all but sealed, Michonne (Danai Gurira) shares a tender moment with Morgan, as she apologizes for being so harsh on him. During their conversation, Morgan falls silent and passes away.
Carl (Chandler Riggs) - During the attack by the herd, Carl is accidentally shot in the head by Douglas (Deanna in the show). Although his wounds aren't fatal, Carl is lost to a coma for sometime. The youth loses his eye in the accident and experiences memory loss.
Tonight's mid-season finale airs at 8 p.m. CST on AMC.
