Check out the first teaser trailer for "Star Wars: Episode VII -- The Force Awakens."
There's a great (FANTASTIC) disturbance in the Force...
Here is the first official trailer for the new Star Wars sequel.
The footage features actor John Boyega sporting a Stormtrooper uniform, while Daisy Ridley is racing on a speeder. Rumors have both playing good guys in the picture.
Boyega is reportedly a man trying to make amends, while Ridley could be the Jedi daughter of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher).
Oscar Isaac is seen flying a X-Wing Fighter and the Millennium Falcon battles Imperial Tie Fighters. A small band of Stormtroopers can also be seen preparing for a water-based invasion.
A black-cloaked Sith Lord prepares to attack in a snowy environment with a cross-like lightsaber hilt in hand.
Sadly, new actors to the franchise Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow do not appear in the 88-second teaser.
More disturbing is the fact that veteran actors Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker are MIA.
The most intriguing aspect of the trailer has to be the narrator. It sounds like Benedict Cumberbatch. He portrayed Khan in "Star Trek Into Darkness" (2013). While he has been tied to the production, there has been no confirmation until now.
Is he friend or foe? The safe bet is that he's a Sith Lord, but I still argue that Max Von Sydow is the Master. He is most likely biding his time until he's ready to make his epic reveal to the Jedi.
"Star Wars: Episode VII" hits theaters on December 18, 2015.
