'ROCKY' is Headed Back to Silver Screen, sort of ...

30 years after down-on-his-luck underdog Rocky Balboa first appeared on the Silver Screen, in "Rocky" (1976), the iconic boxer made his final appearance in the prize ring in "Rocky Balboa" (2006).
Can it be that the Italian Stallion is returning to cinemas? Yes, but with a twist. MGM Studios is currently in talks with Sylvester Stallone to produce a Rocky spin off that focuses on another character featured in the Rocky saga -- former Heavyweight Champion Apollo Creed.
The film's working title is "Creed," and is reported to team Stallone with "Fruitvale Station" (2013) director Ryan Coogler.
Actor Michael B. Jordan is slated to portray Apollo's grandson. Jordan's character finds himself drawn to the life of a fighter and he turns to Balboa (Stallone) for advice and guidance. Hopefully, things turn out better for the kid than they did for Tommy Gun (Tommy Morrison) -- the last guy Rocky trained.
"It is incredible that Rocky's journey had come to a fulfilling end," said Stallone. "What is even more incredible is that it is going to continue thanks to MGM and a brilliant vision from a talented new director."
"Creed" is scheduled for release in 2015.
