First Look: 'THOR: THE DARK WORLD'

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) returns to Earth and reunites with the woman he loves Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), but the malevolent Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) emerges to try and plunge the universe into chaos with his army of Dark Elves.
With such a grave threat looming, the mighty Thor must resort to joining forces with his evil brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in order to thwart the diabolical Malekith and his dark plans.
Challenging Thor is no easy task, but Malekith the Accursed should prove a worthy adversary for the God of Thunder. In addition to once controlling the Casket of Ancient Winters, an icy cold weapon with fountain-of-youth properties, Malekith has super strength and magical powers. Malekith first appeared in Thor#344 (1984).
Also returning to the sequel are The Warriors Three from both the Thor comic books and Norse mythology. These three friends of Thor include Volstagg (Ray Stevenson), Fandral (Zachary Levi) and Hogun (Tadonabu Asano). The trio first appeared in Marvel Comics' Journey Into Mystery#119 (1965).
The film also stars Kat Dennings, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Rene Russo, Jaimie Alexander, Clive Russell and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje; directed by Alan Taylor.
"Thor: The Dark World" opens in theaters November 8, 2013.
