LOS ANGELES — Bruce Willis will reprise the role of John McClane in the fifth installment of the popular "Die Hard" series next year. "A Good Day to Die Hard" will be directed by John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines, Flight of the Phoenix and Max Payne).
Little has been revealed about the plot except that McClane will battle baddies in Russia. This time around McClane gets help from his son John McClane Jr. -- played by actor Jai Courtney. Courtney can be seen later this year in the Tom Cruise flick "Jack Reacher" and next year's "I, Frankenstein" with Aaron Eckhart and Bill Nighy.
Courtney is best known for his portrayal of Varro in the television series "Spartacus: Vengeance." Other actors considered for the coveted role of McClane's son included Paul Walker, Liam Hemsworth, Steven R. McQueen, Aaron Paul and James Badge Dale.
"A Good Day to Die Hard" opens February 14, 2013.
