LOS ANGELES — Director Steven Spielberg's endearing story of a young boy that befriends and helps a marooned alien return home will once again grace the Silver Screen. "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial" (1982) celebrates its 30th anniversary with a very special one-day event.

The film stars Henry Thomas, Drew Barrymore, Dee Wallace, Peter Coyote, Robert MacNaughton, C. Thomas Howell and a cameo by future film and television star Erika Eleniak.
Prior to the movie, TCM co-host Ben Mankiewicz will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the making of "E.T." In the introduction, Spielberg discusses where he got the idea for the movie and what it was like working with child stars Thomas and Barrymore.
