LOS ANGELES — Director Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" will find its way to DVD and Blu-ray in plenty of time for Santa Claus to scoop up a copy and leave it in your stocking. The Blu-ray combo pack comes boxed with the shattered cowl, as it appeared in the film when Bane (Tom Hardy) broke the Batman (Christian Bale).
Along with the epic conclusion to Nolan's Batman saga, Blu-ray bonus features include a fascinating documentary about one of the Dark Knight's most prized possessions -- the Batmobile. Five of the most well-known Batmobiles are on display courtesy of this unique extra.
"Ending the Knight" is an in-depth exploration of Nolan and his film crew creating "The Dark Knight Rises." There are approximately 15 featurettes that give viewers a look at the making of the motion picture.
"The Journey of Bruce Wayne" is another featurette, this one included on both the DVD and Blu-ray, and it focuses on the Billionaire playboy of Gotham City. Art galleries and trailers round out the bonus materials.
The film stars Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Tom Hardy (Bane), Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle/Catwoman), Liam Neeson (Ra's Al Ghul), Gary Oldman (Jim Gordon), Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox), Michael Caine (Alfred), Marion Cotillard (Miranda Tate) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (John Blake).
"The Dark Knight Rises" hits stores on December 4, 2012.
