AT THE MOVIES: "Taken" and "Star Trek" sequel buzz

Next year's untitled sequel to "Star Trek" (2009) will be an IMAX event. A joint press release from Paramount Pictures and the IMAX Corporation revealed that "Star Trek 2" will open on May 17, 2013 and in IMAX Theaters. J.J. Abrams directs; Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Benedict Cumberbatch star.

Little is known about the storyline or the villain Cumberbatch portrays, but rumors swirling on the internet have him playing Khan from the original television series and "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan."


Fans of "Taken" (2008) won't have to wait long, as "Taken 2" will hit theaters on October 5, 2012. Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) is back and in Istanbul. This time around Mills' wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) is abducted by the father of one of the kidnappers Bryan killed in the original film. Maggie Grace also returns, as she reprises her role of Mills' daughter Kim.
