Verlander will start Saturday's home game against the Cleveland Indians. First pitch is at 3 p.m. CST
DETROIT — The Tigers' Ace returns this Saturday. Starting pitcher Justin Verlander will make his season debut on Saturday after missing the last two months due to a right triceps strain. Tigers manager Brad Ausmus is optimistic that Verlander will be able to help a rocky pitching rotation.
"I'm looking for him to pitch well," said Ausmus. "There's still a bit of strengthening and building up process for him. It's only his third start since the injury. But there's not a lot of restraints. If he pitches well, we'll roll with him."
