Benefit for Bri a big success - van almost paid for!

Several hundred people from multiple states and more than 50 motorcycle riders showed up for the She Needs A Ride, Too benefit for Brianna Johnson held at The Lumberyard last Saturday. Organized by friends Kevin Ratkovich and Jeanne Shane as well as other friends and The Lumberyard, the benefit's goal was to raise $4,400 to pay for a van for disabled Eureka Springs 23-year-old Brianna, who goes by "Bri" and is confined to a wheelchair...

This weekend is the Benefit For Bri "She Needs A Ride, Too" event, featured in last week's cover story in the Lovely County Citizen. It's been a long, hot summer, and we've all had some great rides throughout. Now we have the changing of the leaves, like the changing of the guard over the seasons, and it's a beautiful time to ride! It's just two and a half weeks till Bikes, Blues and BBQ, the second-largest motorcycle festival in the United States with 400,000 attending the Fayetteville-based event last year alone. Full weekend for Ozarks motorcycle enthusiasts Aug 23-25

Blogger Kevin Ratkovich is a retired union carpenter from Illinois who moved to the Ozarks in 2006 and currently resides in Eureka Springs. A longtime motorcycle owner and riding enthusiast, he is the proud owner of three bikes -- including an Orange Crush -- and he enjoys riding all over the Midwest and going to biker-friendly places and bike shows.
